4.5-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Peru


Paracas: An earthquake measuring 4.5 magnitude on the Richter scale struck on Thursday western Paracas, Peru. The US Geological Survey (USGS) said that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 12 km.



According to Qatar News Agency, there have been no reports of casualties or material damage due to the earthquake so far. Peru experiences at least 400 earthquakes every year, as it is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, a point of seismic activity that extends along the west coast of the American continent.
