4.4-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Eastern Pakistan

Lahore: An earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale struck Lahore, the capital of Punjab province in eastern Pakistan, and neighboring areas.

According to Qatar News Agency, Pakistan Meteorological Department sources reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 14 kilometers southwest of Lahore. Fortunately, they noted that no casualties have been reported so far.

Pakistan has experienced devastating earthquakes in the past, with a notable 7.6-magnitude earthquake striking in 2005, resulting in thousands of fatalities. Earthquakes are a common occurrence in Pakistan, as the country is situated on the boundary of the Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.
