Doha: The foreign ministers of 31 Arab and Islamic countries, along with the secretaries-general of the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Gulf Cooperation Council, have expressed strong condemnation of recent statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concerning the “Greater Israel Vision.”
According to Qatar News Agency, the officials emphasized that such statements represent a violation of international law and pose a direct threat to Arab national security and global stability. The collective response from the foreign ministers of Qatar, Jordan, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Chad, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Gambia, Indonesia, Iraq, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Maldives, Mauritania, Morocco, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Turkiye, UAE, and Yemen, along with key international organizations, underscores their commitment to peaceful diplomacy and the respect for United Nations charters, particularly regarding the rejection of the use of force.
The joint statement also condemned the approval by Israeli Minister Bezalel Smotrich of a settlement plan in the E1 area and his rejection of a Palestinian state. The ministers regard this as a direct violation of international law and the rights of Palestinians to establish their own state. They reiterated that Israel has no sovereignty over Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, which they assert as the capital of a future Palestinian state.
The group further warned against Israel’s ongoing expansionist settlement activities and actions that threaten Islamic and Christian holy sites. They called for an end to these actions, which they believe exacerbate violence and threaten regional and international peace. The statement also highlighted the importance of international intervention, urging the global community to pressure Israel to cease its aggressive policies and facilitate humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The foreign ministers and secretaries-general demanded the lifting of the Israeli blockade on Gaza and emphasized the need for the State of Palestine to govern both Gaza and the West Bank with international support. They called on the international community, particularly the Security Council’s permanent members, to hold Israel accountable for its actions and to protect Palestinian rights and sovereignty.
