Nineveh: Security forces in Nineveh Governorate launched a large-scale raid campaign in areas south of the city of Mosul, northern Iraq.

According to Qatar News Agency, Nineveh Police said the operation came after receiving accurate information from intelligence sources indicating the detection of suspicious movements of ISIS-linked elements within the Hamam al-Alil district of Nineveh.

Police confirmed that the operation has so far resulted in the arrest of three ISIS members, and that extensive investigations are currently underway. Iraqi forces continue to conduct security operations to pursue ISIS cells, whose members continue to carry out occasional attacks in various areas of Iraq, despite the Iraqi government’s declaration of the elimination of the organization in late 2017.
