Philippines: At least 26 people were killed in the powerful earthquake that struck the central Philippines on Tuesday, local authorities reported.
According to Qatar News Agency, Philippine authorities added that the death toll from the powerful earthquake had reached 26, with 147 injured. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in the Philippines said that the 6.9-magnitude earthquake, which struck off the central island of Cebu, resulted in the destruction of at least 22 buildings, in addition to human losses.
The Philippines is prone to volcanic eruptions and earthquakes due to its location on the Pacific Ring of Fire.
