Chad: Chad's army said militants from Boko Haram attacked a military base in the country's west, killing at least 23 soldiers and wounding 26.

According to Qatar News Agency, the army stated it repelled the assault, which occurred overnight in the Lake Chad region, and that clearance operations are ongoing.

The region has faced repeated attacks by Boko Haram, whose insurgency began in northeastern Nigeria in 2009 and later spread to Chad, Niger, and Cameroon.
