Doha: Under the theme "Innovation and Sustainability: Qatar's Path to 2030", the 21st edition of Project Qatar is set to kick off at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) on Monday, continuing for four days. The event is expected to attract more than 200 local and international companies, showcasing prominent governmental and semi-governmental entities, as well as leading private sector companies that support Qatar's development and infrastructure projects.
According to Qatar News Agency, this year's edition will witness significant international turnout, including a delegation from the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires, led by the Minister of Economic Development. Argentina will participate as the country of honour under the umbrella of Qatar's Years of Culture initiative. High-level delegations, including businessmen from the Moscow Export Center and the China Electronics Chamber of Commerce (CECC), are also expected. Over 80 international companies from across the globe will participate in the event.
Director of Trade Development and Investment Promotion at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Hamad Mohammed Al Nasr emphasized the Ministry's continuous support for Project Qatar, describing it as one of the country's most prominent economic and commercial platforms. Al Nasr highlighted the exhibition's role in enhancing the business environment and developing productive sectors, particularly the construction sector, which is pivotal for achieving sustainable development.
He noted that the Ministry's support reflects its commitment to promoting initiatives and events contributing to the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, focusing on economic diversification, infrastructure development, private sector empowerment, and strengthening public-private partnerships. Project Qatar serves as a strategic platform to attract leading international companies, facilitating the exchange of expertise and showcasing the latest technologies and innovative solutions.
Manager of Public Relations and Communications Department at the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) Abdulla Saad Al Saad stated that Ashghal will participate in Project Qatar with a dedicated pavilion, showcasing its range of projects to engage key stakeholders and foster collaboration in project execution. The Authority aims to connect with a network of consultants, contractors, and suppliers for future collaboration.
General Manager of IFP Qatar Haidar Mshaimesh asserted that Project Qatar continues to play a vital role in driving growth and fostering innovation in the construction industry, positioning it as a global gateway for the Qatari economy. The strong international participation highlights the country's investment opportunities and cultivates cross-border collaborations and partnerships.
Running concurrently with Project Qatar is the Qatar Smart Manufacturing Exhibition, the nation's first trade show dedicated to smart manufacturing, industrial automation, and digital transformation in production environments. Exhibitors will present innovations in automation, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), smart supply chains, and sustainable production systems.
A four-day accompanying conference will address critical topics related to construction, industry, sustainability, and environment, with each day dedicated to a specific theme. Day one will focus on smart and green building solutions, renewable energy, and AI applications in construction. The conference will continue with sessions dedicated to smart manufacturing, digital transformation, and conclude with a training workshop on AI applications in construction and environmental protection.
Project Qatar aims to promote initiatives that encourage the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices across Qatar's construction and industrial sectors, enhancing their overall efficiency. Project Qatar is the largest and most prominent trade exhibition for building materials, equipment, and technologies in Qatar, supported by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and in partnership with Ashghal.
