Two Iraqi soldiers were injured Sunday in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in Diyala.
A security source said that the IED targeted an army patrol in Al-Baijat area in Diyala, injuring two soldiers.
The Iraqi government announced the elimination of the ISIS in 2017, however the group’s threats have not completely disappeared as its cells are still active in separate areas in the north and west of the country, planting explosive devices, carrying out suicide attacks and sabotaging infrastructure, in addition to targeting security forces and civilians.
