Zawiya: At least 18 people were killed when a boat carrying irregular migrants capsized off the coast of Zawiya, western Libya. Zawiya's Ambulance and Emergency Service reported that rescue teams managed to save 92 individuals from the vessel, while efforts continue to locate 18 people who remain missing in the challenging conditions of rough seas.

According to Qatar News Agency, Libyan authorities have also recently prevented a large-scale attempt by irregular migrants trying to depart from the Libyan coast near Benghazi. Libya continues to be a significant transit point for irregular migrants aiming to reach Europe.
