16 Killed, 35 Injured in Russian Shelling on Zaporizhzhia, South-Central Ukraine

Zaporizhzhia: Sixteen people were killed and at least 35 others injured in a Russian airstrike that targeted the city of Zaporizhzhia in south-central Ukraine. Head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov said that the Russian shelling destroyed a correctional facility and damaged several nearby private homes.

According to Qatar News Agency, Ukrainian cities continue to be subjected to near-daily Russian bombardments, despite recent efforts by the United States to encourage Moscow and Kyiv to engage in talks aimed at ending a war that has persisted for more than three years. Reports from both countries regarding the ongoing Russian military operation in Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, often present conflicting accounts of developments on the ground.
