12 Al Shabaab Militants Killed in Southeastern Somalia

Mogadishu: Twelve militants of the Al-Shabaab movement, linked to Al-Qaeda, were killed in a military operation in the Middle Shabelle region in southeastern Somalia.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Somali News Agency (SONNA) reported that Somali National Intelligence and Security Service forces carried out a military operation against militants of the Al-Shabaab movement, affiliated with Al-Qaeda, in the Adem Yabal district of the Middle Shabelle region, resulting in the death of 12 Al-Shabaab members.

Somali forces have been engaged in a prolonged battle against Al-Shabaab Group for over a decade. The group, which has ties to Al-Qaeda, has been responsible for numerous attacks that have claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians and security personnel. In recent months, Somali forces have made significant progress by recapturing several areas that were previously under the control of Al-Shabaab.
