11 Students Injured as Israeli Occupation Forces Raid Birzeit University

Ramallah: Eleven students were injured after Israeli occupation forces entered the campus of Birzeit University in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian officials said.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported that five students were wounded by live fire, four suffered tear gas inhalation, and two were injured in falls. All injured students were transported to a hospital for treatment.

University officials stated that troops breached the main gate, using live rounds, tear gas, and stun grenades while thousands of students were present on campus. The officials noted that the forces entered buildings, seized student equipment, and briefly detained the university's vice-president for academic affairs.

The Palestinian Ministry of Education condemned the raid, describing it as a violation of international conventions that protect educational institutions. The incident occurs amid increased Israeli military operations throughout the West Bank.
