Gaza City: Ten Palestinians were martyred and several others injured on Thursday in a series of Israeli occupation airstrikes targeting homes and tents sheltering displaced persons across various areas of the Gaza Strip.
According to Qatar News Agency, medical sources confirmed the deaths of two civilians and injuries to others in a strike on a displacement tent south of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. A child also succumbed to injuries sustained in an earlier attack on a home in Khan Younis refugee camp. Civil defense teams recovered the body of another martyr who had been killed days ago in a strike on a residential building in the Taqrur al-Lot area, south of the city. In another incident, a farmer was injured in an Israeli strike east of Abasan al-Kabira.
In Gaza City, three members of one family-a father and his two sons-were killed in an Israeli strike on Al-Tuffah neighborhood in the east of the city. Another child was martyred after being hit by shrapnel from a drone-fired bomb in Al-Shuja'iya, while medical teams retrieved a decomposed body in Sheikh Ajleen area in the west. Meanwhile, one civilian was killed in an Israeli attack on Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza.
As of Thursday, the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7, 2023, has risen to 52,718, the vast majority of them women and children. The number of injured has reached 118,091.
In its latest statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that hospitals had received 18 martyrs and 77 injured persons in the past 24 hours. Since March 18-when Israel violated a ceasefire agreement-the attacks have claimed 2,326 lives and left 6,050 people wounded.
The Israeli occupation offensive on Gaza, which began on October 7, 2023, continues to inflict heavy casualties, with many victims still trapped under rubble or lying in streets unreachable by emergency and rescue crews.
